Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling – AUR40820

Home / Automotive – Mechanical & Electrical / Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling – AUR40820

There’s a real difference between replacing a part and rebuilding it to factory spec — and AUR40820 is the qualification for people who do the latter. If that’s your specialty, we can help formalise it through RPL, with assessment carried out by one of our partnered training organisations.

    INTRODUCTIOn

    Qualification Overview

This qualification is for the specialist work of overhauling automotive mechanical components — dismantling parts down to their individual pieces, measuring for wear, machining where needed, and rebuilding to original manufacturer specification. It’s a step beyond general repair, which usually just means replacing components.

Entry requires completion of an automotive mechanical Certificate III, or demonstrated equivalent competency. RPL is well suited to mechanics with genuine overhauling experience — engine or transmission rebuilders, for example — and we help document that experience for assessment by one of our partnered RTOs.

Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling reflects the skills and experience of an individual working in the automotive service, repair and retail industry, performing advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks.
